AICHI - RUGBY WORLD CUP VENUE 2019

CITY OF TOYOTA STADIUM, TOYOTA, AICHI PREFECTURE

LOCATED approximately half way between Tokyo and Osaka, Toyota city stadium is the venue for Rugby World Cup 2019 in Aichi Prefecture.

Originally know as Koromo, historically the city was famous for silk production. The city name changed in 1959 to reflect the main employer in the city, Toyota Motor Corporation. 

The population of Toyota is approximately 500,000 people. 

Attractions in the city include the Toyota Kaikan museum, showcasing the history of the car company and their latest innovations. 

Not far from the city visitors can enjoy Aichi-Kogen Quasi National Park, home to Mount Sanage, a manageable hike at 629 meters to the summit. Mount Sanage is located near the village of Asuke.

For history lovers, Matsudiara-go is in the East of Toyota city, this is the home of Matsudiara Takechiyo who became the supreme leader of Japan in 1603, his clan ruling Japan until 1867.

The Koromo harvest festival traditionally takes place in October, and will be a welcome spectical for Rugby World Cup visitors in 2019.
